It’s amazing to see how much impact @vetscanada has made in our community and across the country. Jim and Deb Lowther have saved lives and made others more livable. Supporting our Veterans who need a hand up. And with great volunteers like Ken, Judie and Jim and others. #Thanks
.@HICC_ca Minister @GregorRobertson’s department transferred millions out of program to aid homeless veterans after claiming it couldn’t find any. Transfer confidential since it was “likely to generate negative stakeholder reactions,” said an Access To Information memo. #ATI #cdnfoi

A big thank you to #MikeLamb for this great story on our Veterans Community Pantry! Unfortunately, food insecurity has become prevalent across the Country over the past few years. In Nova Scotia, 1 in 4 people are food insecure and utilizing food banks. We are just doing our part to help CAF and RCMP Veterans and serving members who are also struggling with high cost of food. If you are a Veteran, or you know of a Veteran, who is struggling, please reach out. It would be our honour to help you! https://t.co/6YxTW0XJSW
Today we recognize and celebrate International Women’s Day — a day to honour the strength, resilience, and leadership of women everywhere. 💜
Across our communities, women continue to lead, serve, support, and inspire. From those serving in uniform, to Veterans who have paved the way, to the dedicated women working behind the scenes in organizations and communities — your impact is profound and lasting.
At VETS Canada, we are proud to work alongside remarkable women: Veterans, volunteers, staff, partners, and supporters who show every day what compassion, courage, and service truly look like. Their commitment helps ensure that Veterans across Canada receive the support, dignity, and care they deserve.
Today we celebrate the achievements of women, recognize the barriers many still face, and reaffirm our commitment to building a future where every woman is valued, supported, and empowered.
To the women who serve, who have served, and who continue to lift others up — thank you.

A sincere thank you to the Order of St. George NCR Priory for their generous donation of $5600 to VETS Canada. This contribution will make a meaningful impact in the lives of Canadian Veterans in the NCR who are in crisis by helping us deliver on-the-ground support, housing assistance, and essential resources.
We are grateful for your continued support!
Empowering Veterans with practical money skills. We’re excited to launch our new monthly Financial Literacy Seminar Series, designed to help Veterans build financial confidence and stability. These seminars will be held on the last Tuesday of each month and presented by Donna Upham, CFP. In addition to being a smart and dependable Financial Planner, Donna is a military spouse who understands firsthand the realities of military life and the financial transitions that can follow. Come once or come every month! Our aim is to empower Veterans with the knowledge and skills needed to confidently manage their finances and plan for the future.
As the year comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what we’ve accomplished together.
This year, because of the dedication of our volunteers and the generosity of our donors, VETS Canada was able to provide critical support to Veterans and their families facing homelessness, food insecurity, crisis, and transition. This year, we moved into our new National Headquarters, opened our Veterans Community Pantry, and, thanks to your support, made a real and measurable difference in the lives of 620 Veterans and their families across the country. To put that into context, that is the largest number of Veterans we have supported since 2018.
The need, however, has not slowed—and neither will we.
As we close out 2025, we invite you to consider making a year-end donation. Your gift today helps ensure Veterans receive the support they deserve, when they need it most. Donations made before December 31 are eligible for an income tax receipt for this tax year.
Together, we can end the year with impact and start the next one with hope.

Thank you for standing with Canada’s Veterans—this year and always. 🇨🇦
Our 1st ever Holiday Meal Program was a big success. Thanks to your generosity, we provided 40+ holiday meals to Vets & their families across the HRM & surrounding areas. If you missed this campaign, you can still support us. https://t.co/qYfaZKc2pi
More veterans in NS & across 🇨🇦 are reaching out as they struggle to afford groceries. Our Veterans Food Pantry is working hard to keep up with rising demand. On Giving Tuesday we’re asking you to help us serve those who have served our country. https://t.co/qYfaZKc2pi
