19 MONTHS ALCOHOL FREE! GOD IS GOOD! A lot of people don’t know this but one of the main reasons I did not tour as much from 2020 to 2025 was because I couldn’t put myself in the position of having to continue to drink before every show. My first ever tour was in 2019 with the legendary Tech N9ne. It was 55 shows. I drank before each one. After that tour I told myself that I literally cannot live like that so I promised myself I wouldn’t do that many shows again until I conquered alcohol. At that time I didn’t think it was physically or mentally even possible for me to perform without liquor in my system. It’s disheartening to say but it was purely FEAR. At some point, though I had had to make the choice to (f)ace (e)verything (a)nd (r)un or (f)ace (e)verything (a)nd (r)ise. I chose to rise and tap into the FREE WILL GOD GRANTED ME. Fast-forward to today, July 1st 2026 and i’m now 19 months alcohol free with my own HEADLINE tour one month away. This tour is 48 shows and I only accepted it because I know I no longer need to drink before I go on stage. This journey hasn’t been easy, but it has been a blessing. ALL LOVE goes to my parents today. They’ve now been together for 39 years. This was the proudest moment of my life. The day they both saw me Perform in my Hometown Ottawa at my own Headline Show for the first time. It was SOLD OUT! They were both born in NIGERIA...🇳🇬 My mother was born in Aba and is IGBO and my Father was born in Lagos and is also IGBO but speaks YORUBA as well. They immigrated to St, John’s, Newfoundland, Canada 🇨🇦 35 Years ago and the rest is history. What they gave me wasn’t a dollar amount and I’m happy and appreciate the struggle and tough times we went through growing up. They set an example of how to work hard and EXPECT nothing from anyone. Tough times create strong people. Thank you mom and dad for your sacrifices. I love you. And shoutout to all the parents in the world. The YOUTH are the FUTURE and it’s going to be harder than ever in this social media generation to lead them in the right direction.
