Empowering Homes with Solar Energy: MNRE issues Operational Guidelines for various components under PM-Surya Ghar’s Muft Bijli Yojana!

MNRE has unveiled transformative payment security and financial assistance components under the PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. These include the ‘Payment Security Mechanism’ and ‘Central Financial Assistance’.

The scheme provides two options for installation of rooftop solar system: the RESCO model, where consumers pay only for the electricity they use, and the ULA model, where DISCOMs install solar systems for households.

Under this scheme, ₹100 crore fund has been allocated for payment security mechanism (PSM).

Dr. Priyadarshini Karve, CEO, CLEAN was a panelist in a panel discussion on UNFCCC COP29 which will be at Baku, Azerbaijan in November 2024. The discussion was organised jointly by Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics and All India Radio Pune in association with Indian Network on Ethics and Climate Change (INECC), Clean Energy Access Network (CLEAN), BAIF Development Foundation, and Terre Policy Centre. The discussion focused on what issues are likely to be discussed at COP29 and their relevance for India, Maharashtra and Pune City. The audience consisted of students, and young green entrepreneurs, and social activists. The edited recording of the event will be broadcast on All India Radio Pune on 2 Nov 2024.
