This is an actual call our communications team received. While we can laugh at the absurdity of it, the reality is that tying up 9-1-1 for a bad hotel experience puts actual lives at risk.
If you are ever unsure if your situation is an emergency, but it is NOT life-or-death or a crime in progress, please use our non-emergency line: 905-453-3311
Let's keep 9-1-1 open for those who truly need it.
Bill C‑14 is now law, delivering stronger accountability and real progress in public safety.
As @DC_Milinovich highlighted, we’re already seeing results through enforcement and better collaborations across all levels of government.
Public safety is our responsibility. #PeelPolice #PublicSafety

I was pleased to welcome Justice Minister @SeanFraserMP to Brampton today to announce that the Bail and Sentencing Reform Act is now the law of the land.
For years, Brampton has been calling for stronger bail laws to address repeat violent offending, organized crime, auto theft, extortion, and gun violence. Following the tragic loss of Darian Henderson-Bellman, our city joined police leaders and municipalities across Canada in advocating for meaningful reform that puts public safety first.
🛡️ These changes represent significant progress toward a justice system that better protects victims, holds serious offenders accountable, and helps keep our communities safe.
🤝 Thank you to our federal and provincial partners, Peel Regional Police, and all those who worked tirelessly to advance these reforms.
▶️ Watch today's announcement live from Brampton City Hall.

On behalf of @PeelPolice, I extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Cst. Marc Pinizzotto of Toronto Police Service, who was tragically killed in the line of duty this morning.
For the second time this week, our policing community is grieving the loss of an officer who made the ultimate sacrifice. This is a reminder of the risks officers face every day to protect our communities, without hesitation and always with courage.
Our thoughts are with their loved ones, the members of @TorontoPolice, and all those across our service who knew Cst. Pinizzotto as they navigate this loss. We stand with you in grief, in solidarity, and in honour of a life dedicated to serving others.

Fraud can only fly so far.
Through Project Icarus, @PeelPolice investigated the use of fraudulent pilot licensing documents, enabling the suspect to complete more than 900 commercial flights and earn over $2.9 million while undermining trust in critical safety systems.
As a result of the investigation, @PeelPolice’s Fraud Bureau has laid charges including fraud over $5,000, two counts of uttering forged documents, and three counts of possession of a counterfeit mark.
We will hold offenders accountable and protect the systems created to keep people safe.
The Peel Police Foundation marked a major milestone and positively impacted the lives of so many with its first-ever funding allocation: @BGCPeel, @EveryMind_CA, Free For All Community Services, @OurPlacePeel, @RootsCSPeel, and @SevaFoodBank.
These community partners play a critical role in supporting at-risk youth, and victims and survivors of human trafficking. Together, we are creating a safer, stronger Peel through innovative public police partnerships.
We heard you in the comments: ‘Cops do it all the time, why can't we?’ Here’s the difference. 👮♀️📱

Peel Regional Police extends our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Brandon Malcolm who tragically lost his life in the line of duty yesterday.
May his service, dedication, and sacrifice to the community he served never be forgotten. #HeroesInLife
Peel Regional Police will not tolerate vandalism — especially hate-motivated crimes of spaces that are meaningful to our communities. People across the region have the right to feel safe in public spaces. We thank our Hate Crime Unit for acting swiftly to locate and hold those responsible accountable.
Honouring legacy through sport ⚽
