Respectfully, adults 21+ using legal nicotine alternatives instead of cigarettes is not the public health crisis it is being portrayed as. Of course, nothing is better than breathing nothing but fresh air and being completely free from nicotine and smoking altogether, that should always be the ultimate goal.

Youth vaping has dropped to the lowest levels ever recorded, with daily use now around 1.4%, yet the conversation keeps shifting to college-aged adults making legal choices instead of focusing on cigarettes.

The real public health catastrophe still killing over 8 million people globally and more than 480,000 Americans every single year.

The good news nobody wants to talk about is that cigarette smoking among young adults and college-aged Americans has collapsed over the last two decades, falling roughly 60–70% since the late 1990s. That is one of the greatest public health victories of our lifetime. 🙌🏻

If a 23 year old adult switches from combustible cigarettes to a non-combustible nicotine product, that is harm reduction.

We cannot keep moving the goalposts every time youth vaping declines while millions of adults are still smoking today and will die before their time because their lives and their struggle to quit combustible cigarettes are no longer being given meaningful consideration.
