As we move closer to the 2027 elections, the need for informed, digitally responsible and actively engaged citizens has never been more important.

Over the last three days, we brought together 100+ Digital Democracy Champions from across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones for three impactful sessions on misinformation, factchecking, digital safety, online rights, civic mobilisation and community action.

Through conversations, shared experiences and practical learning, participants built the skills to navigate digital spaces, promote informed conversations and support meaningful civic participation in their communities.

This is part of our work to prepare citizens who can contribute to a healthier digital environment and more inclusive participation ahead of 2027 elections.

Thank you to everyone who participated and made the Train-the-Trainer Programme a success. The learning continues, and so does the work.

Over three days, participants will build practical knowledge and skills around misinformation and fact-checking, digital safety and online rights, online gender-based violence, civic mobilisation and community action planning through expert-led sessions.

We intend on strengthening the capacity of young people to promote safer, more informed and inclusive digital participation as Nigeria looks towards 2027.
