A public hearing is not theater. It is insurance against selective leaks and mystery ellipses in transcripts. Put the witness under oath, flip on the C-SPAN lights, and every dodge, stammer, or solid answer lands in real time where voters can see it instead of through staff talking points.
Closed sessions feel tidy until someone slips a cherry-picked line to friendly media, coffee burns on the hot plate, and the rumor mill hums louder than the overhead fluorescents in Rayburn 2154. Victims and the public then sift half-truths online while confidence circles the drain.
Jeffrey Epstein moved in bipartisan circles. Clearing that air means a process no side can label a cover-up. Clinton volunteering for open testimony yanks the spotlight onto the committee itself. If the majority trusts its questions, why fear the cameras?
Sunshine disciplines witnesses and interrogators alike. It protects survivors from more backroom games. It lets citizens weigh facts without spin. Congress should accept the offer and schedule the hearing. Truth survives heat. Show it.
I will not sit idly as they use me as a prop in a closed-door kangaroo court by a Republican Party running scared. If they want answers, let’s stop the games & do this the right way: in a public hearing, where the American people can see for themselves what this is really about.
Now, Chairman Comer says he wants cameras, but only behind closed doors. Who benefits from this arrangement? It’s not Epstein’s victims, who deserve justice. Not the public, who deserve the truth. It serves only partisan interests. This is not fact-finding, it’s pure politics.
I have called for the full release of the Epstein files. I have provided a sworn statement of what I know. And just this week, I’ve agreed to appear in person before the committee. But it’s still not enough for Republicans on the House Oversight Committee.
Over 3M files from Epstein supposedly getting released today.
Just this ONE file alone has 26 different new claims against Trump...
How many of these were properly investigated?
So either the Secretary of State / National Security Advisor wasn’t part of deliberations over whether to pardon the former president of Honduras, or @marcorubio is lying. Not great either way.
President Trump flew on convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's private jet ‘many more times than previously has been reported,’ according to an email from a prosecutor that’s part of a new batch of documents about Epstein released by the DOJ https://t.co/iP7VSUcjxf
