In iOS 27, it appears Apple is working on a feature to allow carriers to limit apps on your iPhone if you miss a payment:
"If your balance isn’t paid in full by the time specified in the contract, <n/a> may block access to most of your apps and their associated subscriptions on this iPhone."
It's possible this can mean something else, but it's unclear.
