@iamkoshiek That deal is probably symptomatic of the environment, pressure, where priorities shift from team success to self preservation and silo thinking. EG, a manufacturer will spend R5m on a new showroom, but their factory needs investment to mitigate quality issues and wastage. Maybe.
@WayneH__ There's a shortage of skilled tradespeople in almost all trades. A simplified government backed incentive for providing apprenticeships would go a long way to upskilling. But if you've ever tried to do anything with SETA etc you'll know it's not simple... Not even a little bit..
@stellenmac@Lindidbeer It would be fine if anyone else had built it... Fairly standard by electric car... standards...
But it could be a Xiaomi or BYD, if not for the Ferrari badges...
@vigilantersa I still do. But I am under no illusions that it's going to take a lot longer than anyone thought it would. Prosperity for all in our lifetime? Maybe my kids' lifetime, but we can get there...
@LuckyGordy@stellenmac Been there... Stronic should be spelled $Tronic...
Mechatronic, clutches, single-use bell housing bolts (dont ask how i know that.. ) Even the low mileage imports cost a kidney and half a liver...
@BobMabena@CarsSouthAfrica Isn't Jimny economical? 1.5l 4 cylinder petrol... The criteria would be safe, cheap and not fast enough to scar the kid into an accident... Renault Clios are cheap and not high theft risk with 5 star safety ratings... from the 3 onwards...
@TraceyManus I have never driven this slowly in my life.. My dash has consumption up all the time... I used to get angry when a taxi cut me off, now i get angry when any car pulls out and i have to slow down (from 100 to 80), because I know I'll use more diesel to speed up again.
@Abramjee With the price of petrol and especially diesel now, nobody can afford to be speeding... It's 80 to 100kph in the slow lane.. The dash computer is set to consumption, not speed.
