“Walking helps u to piece a city together, connecting neighborhoods that might otherwise have remained discrete entities, different planets bound to each other”
@BeschlossDC All we need is Neil Young in the picture and we’d have the 3 greatest singer-songwriters of all-time.
Bob Dylan #1
Neil Young #2
Bruce Springsteen #3
@rabbijosh It’s really not a bad habit because the best works are all in the rewrite. And sometimes new ideas come through, which if you don’t attend to immediately, won’t come back the same way again. So I think if u see an edit which begs to get in, by all means stop and get it in there.
@Variety No it’s not time for anything of the sort. Gender specific categories allow more actors and actresses to be in the running and to win. There’s nothing wrong with that system.
@RollingStone “Oh Mercy” - one of Bob Dylan’s best 5 albums. The production, the songs, the way Bob sings them, the words - just a great listen. Two songs didnt really fit tho: “Political World” and “Everything is Broken”. It was recorded & released in 1989. Cover mural at 53rd & 9th Ave NYC.
@M_CCarpenter @gretchenpeters In terms of sad songs, there are those that make you feel better and there are those make you feel worse. The good ones uplift you even though they’re considered sad. The bad ones just depress the hell out of you. Stay away from those.
@RollingStone So Lennon in response to McCartney not thinking Harrison should have equal amount of songs, fires back that the rest of the band didn’t really dig McCartney’s “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer”. To which Paul said he recorded it because he liked it. 🤷🏼♂️

@GratefulDead “Operator”
Grateful Dead
- great song off “American Beauty”
- Pigpen “Ron McKernan” wrote it, plays harmonica and sings it with Jerry on guitar
- would’ve been 74 today (gone 46 years)
Happy Birthday Pigpen!

@keller_cmf He’d find a way. And he’d probably hang out with some of those whom you mentioned, rather than with certain “traditionals” - who of course would be waiting around every corner wagging their fingers at him and worse, while ignoring his prioritized message of Love.
@TheDoors@TheAVClub “Love Street”
The Doors
(from the album)
- the street in Laurel Canyon where Jim & his girlfriend Pamela Courson lived
- Rothdell Trail was "Love Street" to them because they’d sit on the balcony and watch countless hippies walk by
(great great song)

@CNN Sandra Bullock and Rosie O’Donnell each donated over $6 million dollars to help relief efforts after various disasters like Hurricane Katrina.
(just to put things in perspective)
It was an honor to meet RBG... I so look up to her as a person, a woman, and a human being; but also as a wife, a working woman, and a passionate advocate for equality for women and minorities, the underprivileged of this country...
@RollingStone Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris & Dolly Parton singing Neil Young’s “After the Gold Rush” on The Late Show with David Letterman - March 24, 1999

@TheDoors@JimMorrison Great rocker “Shaman’s Blues”
He’s saying to her “if you spend the evening with me - if you lend me your time - I’ll repay you with everything I’ve got”
