Update from today's R&D session on managing #design interfaces. This group went at the Lego exercise with elan. The Lego exercises are proving a very useful tool for exploring construction processes in the abstract. @GIRI_UK@CITB_UK@ThinkUp_@nickf#Training#workshop
Now underway, the first ever Get It Right Initiative training session for supervisors and managers, delivered by @BAMNuttall staff trained through our GIRI train-the-trainer course. #Productivity#error#construction#training@GIRI_UK@CITB_UK
It's been a day of Moodle tweaking, building the learner management system for the @GIRI_UK training we are designing. We will use the platform to do a pre- and post-training evaluation of learner's knowledge and use it to share learning resources. Web page coming soon.
Day 1 of 2 complete for our pilot train the trainer session for the @GIRI_UK Avoiding Errors at Interfaces course. Tomorrow participants do a dress rehearsal. @CITB_UK
Today the Think Up team are in sunny Swindon to run a pilot for a train-the-trainers programme on avoiding errors at interfaces, all part of our @CITB_UK funded @GIRI_UK training development. Photos to follow.
Be a facilitator not a teacher - #7 in our series on problem-based learning. Obvs facilitator means 'to make easy'. That's our job. We make solving problems easier for learners . Choosing the direction is their job. @EUErasmusPlus@EnginiteErasmus

Principle 6 for problem-based learning: let the learners decide what they do & don't know. Just because you say something doesn't mean you know what was heard. Applies to life and learning! https://t.co/p1yNXFEi43 #PBL#pblchat#learning#pedagogy@EUErasmusPlus@EnginiteErasmus
Principle 4 of 12 for #PBL: different learners choose different routes:don't be too prescriptive in your learning resources. The problem space is a like a building - just create a few doorways, not detailed floor plans https://t.co/o8SDXD0zOO @EUErasmusPlus@EnginiteErasmus
Princinple #2 in our series on how to deliver problem based learning: be flexible in your learning outcomes - https://t.co/xH9nSe6tWQ - Tell me how realistic is this in practice? @EUErasmusPlus#PBL@EnginiteErasmus
We've created 12 Enginite Principles for PBL: Principle #1 - a pre-requisite to learning is that students should feel ownership over their learning process. What is your experience of doing this in practice? https://t.co/Mb43Ci2WGr @EUErasmusPlus@EnginiteErasmus
@AndyKosinski hi - I’d really like your perspective as a transport designer on this survey we are doing. Last few days before we close it and keen to get some transport - input. Should take 5 mins. https://t.co/I61UwRQL0M
Antithetical training alert: how to deliver problem-based learning. Well that would be the case if we did it in a traditional way, but we are experimenting with co-designing problem-based learning training with our trainees. We'll share outputs here. https://t.co/8Y1HJaP84m
Design Spectroscopy is our name for characterising design problems and recognising the successful strategies that designers adopt in different scenarios. We need input from 100s of engineers and designers - can you take our 5-minute survey? https://t.co/IKnb1Pvpri
Our friends at @BeepStudioUK are running a really cool workshop for 15-18 year-olds - Skill Up: Style Wars. It's a design brief with a difference: you have to take on a particular architectural style in your response. Please help spread the word if you can https://t.co/N0CjhUnLIg
Recently I was in Montpellier to speak on a panel on advanced urbanism. I interviewed participants to ask what they learnt from the event, part of our @EUErasmusPlus -funded role in @KAAU_Project . https://t.co/9cyc21a3tH @Useful_Projects
