We never had the chance to actually meet Dolly Parton, but we did stand about 10 feet away from her at an event in Nashville very early on in our Thompson Square career. I was so shy, and I wish now that I would have said something to her, but what do you say to such an ICON?
Just being in her presence in that room was electric. What a beacon of light she was.
Several years later, when it came time for me to design my honky tonk album cover, I wanted it to exude my upbringing and my love of real country music. Dolly’s style and Manuel’s clothing designs were the first things that popped into my head.
She was the greatest guide for everything in this business. She truly had it all: talent, looks, business smarts, and loads of personality.
We are so lucky to have had her as a beacon and to have been on this planet, breathing the same air as Dolly Parton.

@Southwest trying to stick it to us again. We have a large merch bag we have flown with for over a decade and never had one issue with “size”. This morning we were warned next time it will cost 200.00. (Mind you, it wasn’t even over weight.) When we started asking questions to find out when the size rules had changed the agent got an attitude and made a huge deal by going to get a supervisor even after we told it was fine we were just curious why our inbound agent didn’t say anything. Its was almost as if she just wanted to beef this morning. With all that being said, since all of your changes every time we have flown we have gotten weird attitude from employees. This kind of treatment is why we started flying southwest exclusively years ago. The customer service WAS always so friendly, understanding and accommodating. What has happened? Did you hire Delta, American and United employees or just adopt those companies culture.
