Folks: This is my last week-plus covering the Mets and with Newsday. It’s been a hell of an eventful seven-plus years — more like 23 in Mets years? — around a team that always keeps it interesting. And I’m going to miss it and you all quite a bit!

So the Sox will have at least one new reliever tomorrow. Chad Tracy said they were working through some bullpen options.

Brody Bumila tells me that before drafting him 3-89, the Texas Rangers offered him "first-round money" (amount will be revealed soon) and that he will sign with them. Was committed to University of Texas.
He also plans to have Tommy John in Arlington, Texas in the coming days.

That makes seven scoreless innings across two major league appearances this year.

Important Willson Contreras updates: He has a Bowser-themed bat that he hopes to use during the Home Run Derby on Monday.
And during the game today, since he is suspended and can’t be in the dugout/clubhouse, he is leaving the ballpark to buy a suit for All-Star stuff.

After their travel woes and late arrival to Citi Field, the Red Sox won a seventh straight game (and 12th in their past 14).
They are 44-48, a mere four games under .500 for the first time since April 20.
