Horrible news coming out of Montréal today.

My thoughts are with the family, loved ones, and colleagues of the SPVM officer who tragically lost their life in the line of duty, as well as the injured officer, the civilian victim, and everyone affected by this heartbreaking tragedy.

We owe a profound debt of gratitude to the brave men and women who put on the uniform every day to keep our communities safe.

Praying for strength, healing, and peace for everyone affected.

UPDATE: A 2nd arrest was made at the Decarie Mall next to the scene of the shooting.

It is unclear if the arrest is linked to the shooting, but given the police presence & manhunt that went underway it is worth noting.

UPDATE: There is a 2nd shooter on the loose and a manhunt is currently underway. A lockdown notice has been sent to all in the area.

Worth noting the 1st gunman in military wear & this being a heavily Jewish area with kosher restaurants, this is leaning to domestic terrorism.

#BREAKING: In yet another hot mic incident, Mark Carney is caught insulting HIS OWN MPs, telling the visiting Croatian prime minister Andrej Plenkovic that they're just "useful for votes."

He then makes another comment about his cabinet ministers, but the comments from the Croatian prime minister he was responding to is inaudible, so the context is difficult to make out.

Regardless, it shows yet more contempt that Carney has for Canada's representative democracy. He'd like to have all the power in his own hands.
