This time 5 years ago, we went to #Bermuda for #Thanksgiving. It was our last plane trip pre-covid. I can't believe we're at the 5-year mark. I recommend Bermuda during the off-season to explore non-beach parts of the island.

Yes this looks sunny and tropical but places that are this flat just feel wrong to me. I guess that’s what you get living near mountains your whole life! ⛰️ Who else feels the same way?

I've noticed an uptick in people visiting our post on gingerbread house making - I guess 'tis the season (almost) 🤯

Good morning from the train! 🚂 This was a so much better than driving on the interstate. I wish we’d expand train routes in the US.

It's unseasonably warm but it's Nov. so time to switch from my summer breakfast of Greek yogurt, homemade granola & berries to our winter breakfast: porridge. Check out our recipe, inspired by our trip to #scotland.

Two weeks until Thanksgiving 🦃 Do you have your game face ready?
Dog tip from Tara: stare at food with intense desire so it falls on the floor.

Hiked a new-to-us trail at Explore Park in Roanoke this past weekend. This elongated fall and gorgeous weather is perfect for outdoor exploration!

I’m obsessed with this painting. It’s amazing on so many levels! Spotted at a local restaurant. Unfortunately I don’t know the artist’s name to tag them. Maybe someone will know and help me out?

1-mile walk surrounded by Blue Ridge mountains with dining and lodging right along the shore. Abbott Lake is great for those looking for something low-key after a strenuous nearby hike, and it's wheelchair accessible.

This picture is probably more apt for a Monday than Friday but...How fascinating are the antique horse-drawn, glass-sided hearses?! This one is from c.1890 & was spotted on our recent visit to The Virginia Museum of Transportation.

Anyone else have a hankering for bringing fancy back? This china was the most widely used pattern on the Norfolk & Western Railway, used from 1922-1971. This is a far cry from the dining experience I have on the modern Amtraks, no offense to Amtrak.
