Every child deserves a childhood free from harm.
Yesterday at the World Health Assembly in Geneva, we launched the 2026 Out of the Shadows Index — a global assessment of national efforts to address sexual violence against children (SVAC).
With 1 in 5 girls and 1 in 7 boys affected worldwide, this is not a private matter but a global crisis that requires a public, political, and financial response.
Supported by @together4girls, the index highlights what’s working and where progress is still needed, offering a clear roadmap to guide action and strengthen accountability so more children can grow up free from violence.
