Poor under a high press. When a striker closes him down, he releases early rather than holding the ball to draw the commit. The free-man advantage never materialises, so City’s first line gets beaten instead of beating the press.

Limited on his weaker foot too. It restricts which side he can build towards, allowing opponents to press him one-directionally and anticipate where the ball is going.

Uncomfortable in tight spaces. His size is an asset on the line but becomes a liability when he has to take a touch, turn and play out of pressure.

Goes long too readily, which turns a possession side into a lottery it isn’t particularly built to win.

He concedes silly goals = misjudged clearances, loose passes into congested areas, the occasional one straight into an opponent’s path. He’s a liability in possession. End of.
