#FBF Recently sat on a panel at the @AcademyMuseum and had the chance to reminisce about starring in the 2007 supernatural thriller Imprint. It was such a meaningful experience and an incredible opportunity. Grateful to Producer Chris Eyre and Director Michael Linn for bringing me into the project.

The wondrous Monarch butterflies begin their epic journeys from Canada and Northern US all the way to Coastal California and Central Mexico this month. I’m wishing them good travels! I also planted native milkweed and I’m sharing in these pics of my regalia Edison's Atelier dedicated to this beautiful creature.

The night shift is busy. 🌙

A few trail cameras revealed the hidden life moving through my native garden, including rabbits, skunks, coyotes, and more. It's a reminder that even small spaces planted with native species can provide important habitat for wildlife.

I had the joy of performing Kaweewish ("The Fox Song"), which I wrote for our native fox.

Kaweewish means "fox" in the Tongva language. Performing it at @TheFordLA on Cahuenga Blvd. felt especially fitting since it's near the site of the Tongva village of Cahuenga, "the place of the fox." I had a blast hosting "The Journey through Cahuenga", introducing the artists, and enjoying the incredible performances.

Sometimes the best moments happen when you simply pick up an instrument and sing. 🎶

Here's a little rendition of Blue Bayou shared with family and friends. It’s a beautiful tradition to play music at family gatherings from my Nuevomexicano side. It’s one of the ways I reconnect, reflect, and tell stories whether on screen or around the living room.

Incidentally it’s also the name of one of my favorite NCIS Origins Episodes.

Native Voices for the last 30 years has created opportunities for Indigenous playwrights, actors, and storytellers to share Native stories on stage. It has been an honor to support this company and to be part of that journey, in productions like Jump Kiss, Please Do Not Touch the Indians, Carbon Black and Pure Native ….to name a few.

Everytime I reunite with this company I'm reminded that storytelling is magical and commuity is essential.

Happy and peaceful Summer Solstice to all. The longest day of the year. A day to acknowledge and observe with awe and wonder as we walk on this earth. I collected water from the Paayme Paxaayt (the LA River) to offer at a Summer Solstice gathering. I’m doing my best to reduce plastics but it’s all I had at the moment.

Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865, when enslaved African Americans in Texas learned they were free.

As we celebrate this historic milestone, we also remember that freedom did not arrive equally or immediately for everyone.

Throwing it back to my time on The Windigo as Claire. I do enjoy making indie films. This one was made in the dead of winter in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The cast and crew soldiered through bitter cold and many challenges. My great admiration to director Gabe Torres who saw this production through to completion.

Flashback to 2022 voice acting as the Orchids and Buffalo in Spirit Rangers! This is a fun animated preschool series on @Netflix with lots of heart, adventures and good wisdom. So glad to be a part of this special show.

Honored to be part of the opening of Life, Liberty, and Los Angeles at @TheAutry Museum.

As a performer and collaborator, I brought some direction to the entry of this exhibition with a sound scape that featured fictional conversations in a Tongva village. This was brought to life by myself and other fellow Tongva language learners. The script was originally written by DeLanna Studi and translated into Tongva by Virginia Carmelo.

I was impressed by the rest of the exhibition which explores the rich layered histories, voices, and communities that have shaped Los Angeles across generations. This is the first time I have ever seen a history of LA presented with this amount of complexity and thoughtfulness.

Thank you to the collaborators, artists, historians, cultural leaders, and community members who helped bring this important exhibition to life.

I recently joined a volunteer day at the Tongva Taraxat Paxaavxa Conservancy, supporting land restoration and conservation efforts on Tongva ancestral land.

Alongside fellow volunteers, we helped care for the landscape by removing invasive vegetation and contributing to the long-term health of this important space.

It was a meaningful day of stewardship, community, and connection to the land.

Dancing to honor our ancestors! I was so proud to be a part of this special show. I was a consultant and had a cameo as a character named Tonantzin in episode 7! I also got to dance, choreograph, cast my fellow dancers, and I wear my own self-made regalia. This was back in 2019 after connecting with the amazing Kate Purdy who made a place for me in her beautiful show “Undone”.
