@JohnCun74018833 @AriFleischer Don’t get me wrong. If an alliance could be constructed to overthrow the Iranian regime and install a government that treated its citizens humanely, I’d be all for it. But you don’t start a war before getting support and then whinge when your remote air power doesn’t work.

So now, having not consulted his NATO allies previously, he wants them to get involved. Why would anyone do that? Especially when he spends his time insulting allies!

@JohnCun74018833 @AriFleischer And my only point was that being in a defensive alliance, i.e. NATO, is quite different to being in an offensive alliance. If you want to create an alliance to attack another country you’ll need UN approval. As happened in Afghanistan. Nobody is avoiding treaty obligations here.
