Life can bring us endless ups and downs. While we can’t always control the situations we find ourselves in, we can explore how we can change our relationship to them, and experience a greater sense of peace and wellbeing by developing attitudes of #kindness and #compassion.
We can utilize #mindfulness to simply check in to see what’s going on in our body with open curiosity. It's as if you are traveling through your body with your mind, just seeing what’s there.
Be present with the breath as it goes in, fully present and engaged with the breath as it goes out. Be present with the sensations in the body as they come and go, shift and change. #Mindfulness#Presence
Notice your thoughts and feelings with acceptance and #curiosity. The most significant result of a positive attitude toward our difficult experiences is not to keep them from happening, but to keep them from becoming an overwhelming negative and painful force when they do happen.
Think of a person or a group of people that dedicate their time and energy for the welfare of others. Focus on your example, and allow their actions to inspire you: “I will follow their example and do whatever I can to eliminate suffering and have a positive impact.” #Compassion
Call to mind someone who might suffer in the same way you do. Picture them in front of you, and imagine that you are breathing in their suffering. As you breathe out, imagine sending them love, happiness, and positive energy in the form of white light. 🌬️ #GreatCompassion
#GreatCompassion is the wish for others to be free from suffering + a firm commitment to help end their suffering. If we recognize our #interdependence, and that our interests are not separate from those of others, it is easier to put our compassion into action. #StrongerTogether
To shift the focus from just yourself to include the wellbeing of others, look to find the common ground between you & others. If you look really closely, you will find that just as you work hard to bring about your own happiness, and avoid suffering, so do others. 👀 #Compassion
Find some #gratitude for yourself, your breath, your body and your life. Or, it might be that you are not feeling so grateful right now, at this very moment. And that's ok. Just notice where you are.
Whatever kind of experience you are having - whether it's joyful or painful, healthy or unwell, see if you can focus on what you're grateful for. #Gratitude#Thanksgiving
