How can we prevent male suicide? Well, data reliably tells us that in young men, alcohol dependence = 10x risk of suicide attempt vs gen pop & problem gambling = 15x risk. These are fundamentally health issues and governments need to stand up to the alcohol & gambling lobby now.

@zacseidler 100%. Mental health is an important and oftentimes serious topic, but not something to fear. This plays into the same false notion of “talking about suicide encourages suicide”, which makes topics like this taboo again, with repercussions for those openly talking about it.
