Former Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey is returning to the Show-Me State after about a year as co-deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigations. Welcome home, Mr. Bailey. We hardly missed you.

No amount of social media posturing by Missouri Republicans can disguise the reality that true election integrity starts with following the law, not crying foul when the nation’s highest court calls your bluff.

I was today years old when I learned U.S. Rep. Bob Onder, a Missouri Republican, blocked me on twitter, errrr, X, I meant. Dang, Congressman, what did I do to get blocked?
Shortly after Jackson County Circuit Court Judge Jalilah Otto found Kansas City Police Officer Chris Showalter guilty of misdemeanor fourth-degree assault, Showalter’s victim was asked if Showalter should be a police officer.
"No," he said.

@t_campbell5@byEliHoff Brewer wrote ISU a letter prior to knowing of Trice's death stating the league's gentlemen agreement prohibited Blacks from playing on Mizzou's field. There is no record of Brewer sending condolences ISU way but if you know of one, let me know. I am not above being corrected.
No shade to Eli. He is a great writer. But let's keep in mind AD Brewer wouldn't allow a Black player from Iowa State named Jack Trice to play on that field. While I remain a Tiger fan, let's not forget that part of history... btw, ISU named its football stadium after Jack Trice.
Foundational #Mizzou AD Chester L. Brewer before Memorial Stadium's 1926 opening:
“There is one fact which must be realized above all others, and that is that a stadium is a thing which will stand for a century.”

Seems Mr. Blue Check Lawson here doesn't understand the title (opinion writer) that is cleary stated in my bio. Genuine discourse on this app is a lost cause. Have a good day, sir.
@torianoporter And let's be clear - It is the position of Toriano Porter that it should be lawful to withhold or otherwise discriminate with regards to employment on the basis of skin color. Goodness. Is that the position of the KC Star?
@jameslawsonMO A policy put in place to ensure fairness is not discriminatory. A board devoid of true representation would be a disservice to all students that participate in extracurricular activities sanctioned by MSHSSA.
Outside of that, we'll see how the court rules in this case.
By its own admission, MSHSAA discovered more than 20 years ago that its board was populated by white men.
Before the new policy, with the exception of one individual, the board had never had a minority or female board member initially join through the standard at-large process.
Correct. He was ineligible to apply for the seat because of the color of his skin. Not because of merit or the content of his character.
Now say that again. Loud. For everyone to hear.
This post is either a meaningless FYI, or you feel that a person should be denied a board seat or employment based on skin color. Which is it?
MSHSAA's 10-person board of directors is currently made up of 6 white men, 3 white women and 1 Black man. The subject of this lawsuit is a white male turned down for an at-large seat he wasn't eligible to apply for but could apply for an in-district seat.

Today the Eastern District Court of Missouri rejected MSHSAA’s motion to dismiss our lawsuit holding them accountable for race- and sex-based discrimination.
Our claims will proceed, and we are grateful @AAGDhillon can continue representing Americans in this fight for equal treatment under the law.
A Jackson County judge found Kansas City Police Officer Chris Showalter guilty of fourth-degree misdemeanor assault for using excessive force against a handcuffed man. Sentencing is set for Oct. 29.
On Wednesday, I attended the trial of Kansas City Police Officer Chris Showalter, who is accused of assault for driving his knee into the neck of a handcuffed man. Below is a link to five things that stood out from witness testimony.
