Shadwell Basin is a dangerous place to swim and people have drowned. The water is very cold and deep, and there are hidden obstacles. People have been seen incorrectly using the life-saving equipment which means it would not be available in an emergency, putting lives at risk

Tower Hamlets residents with household incomes up to £50,350 and a child starting primary or secondary school in September can apply for £50 (primary) or £150 (secondary) grants towards the cost of clothes and uniforms.
