The Town of Edenton had a discharge of untreated wastewater from our collection system on 8-10-2024 of est. 33,000 gallons for approx. 1 hr due to heavy rain. The discharge entered the Filbert’s Creek & Queen Anne Creek watersheds. NCDEQ was notified on 8-11-24 and is reviewing.
A plethora of impacts will be seen today & Friday from Tropical Storm Debby. Heavier rainfall will overspread the area through the day & into tonight. There will also be a threat for a few tornadoes. Winds gradually increase becoming gusty overnight. Have a way to get warnings!
As (the remnants of ) Debby move into NC tomorrow, the local impacts from the storm will ramp up. We're expecting moderate to heavy rainfall across the area with highest precip amounts in the west. Also, there is the potential for a few brief tornados in the afternoon.
