I recently interviewed for an Associate DBA position.

The recruiter told me the hiring team was “very interested” in my background, but the role had to be filled offshore before it could be opened to a U.S.-based candidate.

As a recent STEM graduate, it’s depressing.

Certificates and come and do entry level
Jobs. Some are even working in 7/11 store and some are working as college professors.
Are we now saying that we do not have talented American student from the university to take the teaching job????

@TruueDiscipline I am a naturalized citizen of US… born and brought up in India. And I can say that naturalized citizens should be kept far far away from the govt roles….

@SaraGonzalesTX Sarah, there needs to be a petition to atleast end the H4 EAD when so many US citizens are out of work. It was started some 10yrs ago and this is a good decade run it had. Before doing anything to H1b ending H4 EAD should be an easy win 🤷‍♀️

@RepEliCrane End the H4 EAD - this is most problematic than H1b coz H4EAD can work any where and take the hourly jobs as well go 🤷‍♀️

@nehasuratran Plz do a broader research. There are many who are abusing the H1b. There have been interviews with H1b holders working in grocery stores … just a little research would prevent you from posting such a comment… I am naturalized citizen with Indian roots and I know the reality 🤷‍♀️
