Officers are currently on scene at Wickford railway station in Essex following reports that the rear carriages of a train have derailed in an upright position at 2.12pm today.

We’re responding alongside paramedics and the fire service. There are currently no reported injuries.

RAIB inspectors continue to gather evidence at the site of yesterday's derailment at Lewes. RAIB will conduct a full, independent safety investigation into the accident. We will provide a further update next week once we know more #Lewes #EastSussex

.@BTP has confirmed two people sustained serious injuries and a further nine have less serious injuries. Everyone on the train has been safely removed from the service.

My thoughts remain with those affected and my continued thanks go to the emergency services and rail partners who have worked so hard to support everyone involved. @raibgovuk has deployed inspectors to the site.
