NEW RESOURCE: Here’s a Macbeth scheme, based on the work I completed with @teachals for ‘Ready to Teach: Macbeth’, alongside new thinking and ideas I’ve encountered since. Use/chuck/change as you see fit! @Team_English1 https://t.co/m61fdecCIA
Thank you also to Ms Murray, our wonderful colleague from the Art Dept, whose creativity made our Open Night hampers extra special 🎨💐 (we almost wanted to keep them ourselves!) Comhghairdeas to our lucky winners!
Míle buíochas to Ikki and Andrea (Youghal Library) @corkcolibrary for their generous support of our @Trionoide Open Evening! We’re also most grateful to our wonderful student helpers who represented us so well! 📚👏 Our hampers are on their way to the lucky sixth class winners!
We are saddened to hear of the passing of Irish poet Paul Durcan. His powerful and often deeply personal poems left a lasting impression on many, as his work featured on the Leaving Cert poetry course, connecting with generations of students.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
Comhghairdeas to our fantastic @Trionoide pupil @OisinKeniry who was interviewed by Steve Fairclough for 2POINT8 on his incredible photography career. We are so proud of Oisín and his achievements—talent, work ethic, passion, perseverance, risk-taking and creativity in action! 🎥

Our 6th Years attended a wonderful student-focused production of “King Lear” at the Theatre Royal, Waterford, today. Their excellent behaviour and enthusiasm were commendable. ‘Nothing will come of nothing.’ #LeavingCertEnglish#TheatreRoyal#StudentLife
@Trionoide
Míle buíochas to Ciara from @corkcolibrary for donating copies of the wonderful “Freya Harte is not a Puzzle” by @soundslikewave as part of the One County, One Book initiative. Our students and Book Club are so looking forward to diving in! 📚📖 @Trionoide #reading#bookworms
"Feedback should make the student work harder than the teacher" - @dylanwiliam really struck a chord in our CPD on Monday. My resource allowed students to reflect on their answer by tearing apart their chosen quotation with specific intentions and the rewrites were phenomenal. 👏
Congratulations to our wonderful former colleague and friend Linda Donoghue and the Youghal Sea Swimmers who clinched a prestigious national award for their beautiful anthology “Saltwater Souls” at the recent CAP Awards in Dublin. 👏👏👏 @Trionoide
We were delighted to recently support 5 @Trionoide students, Grace Callaghan, Kate Innes, Aisling Coleman, Danny King and Doireann Walsh in their fundraising efforts in aid of @HopeFoundation & their trip to Kolkata, India - well done on your great fundraising efforts!
Inspired by #edutwitter - trialled a 'controlled' quotation explosion 💥 with an emphasis on highlighting the difference between word zooms and inferences VS methods and their effects... 🔍 📚 #teamenglish#aqalanguage#gcseenglish#ECTEnglish
Opening Fifth Year #English's study of 'Macbeth' with #VisualLiteracy analysis, presentation, & prediction activity. Created a nice little buzz around the text & cross-curricular links with Art fostered brilliant analysis! Adapted for 2024 inspired by @OideElish! 🗡🩸 #EdChatIE
I always sneak a visual literacy activity into my intro. lessons on the Single Text. Whilst prepping to teach 'Macbeth', I came across this image from the Japanese art director Yuni Yoshida. I had to incorporate it into the activity. There is so much going on here! #EdChatIE
From @BBCNews. May be of interest to any teachers of English looking for a modern example of the issues raised in 'The Crucible'. #EdChatIE
