Steven Meier: “It’s the best coach in college baseball, it’s the best coach I’ve ever had. It’s the balance of being coached, and taught, and sometimes, you know, got MF’d in the dugout, and that’s okay, but also being so free, and being able to just play your game. You don’t feel judged, or you don’t feel like you’re in a box. I’ve been there before, and that’s just so defeating as a ballplayer.”

Blake Cavill: “There’s not many places in the country that let me be me because, you know, I could be a little crazy sometimes, but Skylar lets me get away with it most of the time. Sometimes he’ll be in my ear, ‘cut it out a little bit,’ or sometimes he’ll be like, ‘hey, let it eat today.’ There’s no one you’d rather play for. Except he never gave me one inning on the mound.”
