Hoping to make the game easier? Amp up the challenge? Looking to get WEIRD???? 🥸
We’ve got you covered. Mina the Hollower has tons of built-in modifiers that customize your experience from the lenient to the punishing. 💪
What kind of experience are YOU going to craft? 👾
I want to tell a story.
My daughter like video games. Maybe not the same video games I do, but she's liked the games she's liked over the years. Splatoon, Mario 3D World, Stardew Valley, Genshin Impact, Roblox, etc.
One of the game she played when she was like 11, was Celeste. She like the visuals and simple core controls of the game. It was also WAY too hard for her, and she was never going to be able to clear it. But thankfully, Celeste had this Assist Mode in the game. Not something I'd personally use, but she did and it allowed her to experience the game entirely in a way that she enjoyed and looks back fondly on.
Having this didn't ruin the game for speed runners, and didn't detract from its amazing level design. But it did allow her to enjoy the game. It was a good reminder for me, and I always look back at this as a great example of game design.
When I was young (old joke here), it was stuff like Game Genie that would do this. Or the Konami code. Aint no way I would beat Contra without 30 lives...but thanks to that Konami code, I have fond memories of the game and it's final levels. Same with TMNT2 and its reverse code.
All of this is to say, games having "cheats" for the player to be able to get past tough parts is something I will always advocate for. It keeps games more open to people who will enjoy them, and they can then challenge themselves as they get more into it. Aint nothing wrong with that.
TLDR - These features in Mina look neat. I'm excited to play the base game, and admire the dev team for making so many cool options!
@artsyomni I compared the first movie to McDonald's of cinema. It will never be the best hamburger but it is serviceable to most. A nostalgic comfort food for others. Then there are those who look at what McDonald's represents and hate it out of principle.
Today is Trans Day of Visibility.
Trans, non-binary, and gender-nonconforming people have always been here — from the hijra of India to the Diné nádleehi to the leaders who built the modern LGBTQIA+ movement here in New York.
Your existence is not up for debate. Your lives are not a political issue.
We’re fighting for a city where every trans New Yorker can live openly, safely, and with joy.
@artsyomni This also isn't new. Monsters Inc cost twice as much as Shrek. Both movies look good, maybe even similar at a glance but when you start to zoom in one is more refined/polished visually. Mario doesn't have as good lighting/VFXs as Toy Story 5 but it doesn't need to look quality.
@artsyomni The Mario movie is about on par with a Disney/Pixar movie from 5 years ago on a technical level. The thing is that means it looks as good as Encanto, which is a beautiful movie. The yearly improvements we see are smaller and smaller. They are still there, and just as expensive.
@thelazerhorse I was having massive problems with Photoshop for months. It turned out to be a driver issue. I used DDU and installed Nvidia's 577.00 driver. It's been 2 weeks and I've had zero crashes or issues since.
@Head_cannon All of these things just seem like no brainers that would earn money and foster more fans. I don't understand hiring fans to port your games to iPhone then taking 10+ years and doing a half assed job putting those same ports on console and PC.
@Head_cannon The way Sega handled all of this has always been so interesting to me. Not just Origin but why only release Sonic 1 and 2 on mobile in 2011? Why not greenlight Sonic 3 sooner and just compose new music if you can't get the rights? Why not make Mania 2?
@CiblesGD The problem is that they had the world's worst PR guy known to man on the mic. Talking about how "ummm technically this is within our legal right☝️🤓 buttttt we are trying to fix it." Talking down to those impacted and shifting blame rather than offering solutions publicly.
@CiblesGD Based on the fact that all the screenshots have shown the revenue split being 0% creator and 100% IP Holders, I assume that they wanted the numbers to be reversed and this was a genuine mistake on either their or YouTube's part.
@TAHK0 I think Amiibo functionality should be around that of the Tingle Tuner. A fun party trick with some extra content, never a core feature that feels missing in the game.
