Today we celebrate the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation. This marks the beginning of the Season of Creation – observed by Christians of various denominations – whose theme this year is “Living Water.” As I recalled in the Message for this Day, caring for our common home calls for a conversion of heart, so that what has been used to bring about destruction may instead be directed toward life. I invite everyone to join in prayer and action, that we may become channels of the living water of God’s peace, refreshing our wounded world.

@tuamarchdiocese The Latin Mass Pilgrimage to Knock takes place on Saturday September 5 commencing with a Missa Cantata ( sung Mass) in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel at 2pm followed by Stations of the Cross and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.

Today, August 14th marks the 85th anniversary of the martyrdom of St Maximilian Kolbe. Devoted throughout his priesthood to ‘The Immaculata’, Fr #Kolbe died on the eve of the Feast of the Assumption. #Auschwitz

Today is the Feast of Saint Maximilian #Kolbe. A Conventual Franciscan #priest, he worked in the apostolate of the press in Poland and Japan. He was #martyred in Auschwitz in 1941 after volunteering to die in place of a man with a wife and children.

The National Novena to Our Lady of Knock takes place from 13 to 21 August.
Daily Ceremonies take place at 3pm and 8pm, with workshops each day at 12.45pm.
There will also be the opportunity to attend daily guided prayer sessions at 11.15am and 5.15pm throughout the Novena.
