🦀 Introducing Scrawls: A Rust library for the Cardano SCLS format
Scrawls is now available on https://t.co/YwzKKFfM6J: A Rust implementation of the Standard Canonical Ledger State (SCLS) format defined in CIP-0165, a versioned, verifiable container for Cardano ledger-state snapshots.
What it does:
• Read, write and verify SCLS v1 files
• Three-level cryptographic integrity: per-chunk Blake2b-224 digests, per-namespace Merkle roots and a global Merkle root
• Streaming, lazy parsing; memory stays proportional to chunk count, not file size
• Builder-pattern writer that enforces namespace and key ordering at write time
• Interoperable with the Haskell reference implementation, tested in both directions

We listened to the feedback from DReps and the community and we have resubmitted a revised proposal.
12 months. Reduced budget. Focused scope centered around getting Peras to mainnet.

Testing whether a Cardano node implementation behaves correctly has always been difficult.
During our 2025 work we built a black box ledger testing framework. It uses the Canonical Ledger State format (CIP-165) and exports existing tests directly from the Haskell node so they can be run against any other node implementation.
Here is a demo of how it works with the Haskell node 👇
@william00000010 Thank you for the support,
We will soon be submitting a revised proposal focused specifically on Peras, with a shorter timeline and reduced budget.
Cardano Governance Hour #7
This session takes a closer look at Tweag’s Treasury Withdrawal proposal, together with Blockchain Ecosystem Growth & Partnerships Lead @KrisKowalsky

@SIPO_Tokyo A revised proposal focused specifically on Peras, with a shorter timeline and reduced budget, is coming very soon.
We hope to have your support.

Important Update :
We have been listening and we want to be clear about what we are doing next.
The feedback from DReps has been consistent.
You understand how important Peras is for Cardano and you want to see it reach mainnet, but the community made it clear that committing two years of funding is not the right approach for this governance cycle and the scope was too broad.
We heard that and we are acting on it. The revised proposal has a reduced budget, a shorter timeline, and a focused scope built around getting Peras to mainnet safely. Everything in it reflects the feedback we have received over the past few weeks.
Cardano needs Peras. Transaction finality from approximately 12 minutes down to approximately 2 minutes is not a marginal improvement. It is essential for L2s, partner chains, and exchanges.
The revised proposal is in its final stages of preparation and will be live very soon.
Getting this passed within the current NCL cycle is critical for the ecosystem and we need your support.
More details coming very soon
@ItsDave_ADA Thank you for the clear rationale Dave
A revised proposal focused specifically on Peras, with a shorter timeline and reduced budget.. is coming very soon. 🙏
Introducing cooked-validators v9.0.0.
- A revamped effect system (using Polysemy) with more granularity, reliability, separation of concerns and expressiveness.
- A refined balancing mechanism, offering more user-control and an optimized solution in terms of transaction size overhead.
- A new extension of our temporal logic DSL, allowing to modify traces with additional constructs such as logical negation and implication.

Peras is essential for Cardano.
Transaction finality on Cardano today takes approximately 12 minutes.
With Peras, that comes down to approximately 2 minutes.
That improvement changes what can be built on Cardano, and is needed for L2s, partner chains, and exchanges.
Faster finality means faster payments, more responsive applications, and a stronger network for everyone building on Cardano.
