@AlphaOmegaTri A shallow pond.
Nothing is tying Sonic down, or keeping him glued to the spot. It's just looking at the moon.
Cream and Chris don't take it as a threat either. Cream is happy and Chris finds it lighthearted. If it was a threat to Sonic, surely they'd be against it, yeah?
THIS is the Amy people say is the "peak" version of her character?
The one who basically tried to ROOFIE Sonic into loving her?
These so-called Amy fans really ain't beating the "her character should only love Sonic 24/7 and nothing else" allegations.
@AlphaOmegaTri There is another way to interpret that, I'm providing it now. A spell that ensures two lovers will be together forever does not = roofie in my mind because that's not what the intention is ๐ญ.
The "trap" by the way is a trip rope and a cartoonish spring that would drop them in-
@AlphaOmegaTri She isn't flawless but she's also not malicious. She didn't want to harm Sonic and is likely the person who loves him the most (even vowing to wait for him into her elder years). Her acting brash and day-dreamy is not the same as her trying to "roofie" him. Come on now... ๐ญ
@AlphaOmegaTri What do you think the implication is after gazing at the moon?? ๐ฐ
A LOVE spell that joins two souls in a Sonic anime meant for children, not a roofie which has real world relevance as a date rape drug used by people who in fact do *not* care about the victim ๐ญ
@AlphaOmegaTri Because it didn't take away Cosmo or Tails' ability to say no ๐ญ
That's what I'm saying, *they* fell for the trap. Unless you believe that the Tailsmo relationship is built on force and both characters were stripped of their free will after this point
@AlphaOmegaTri But to compare it to roofing is so far from what this actually is. This spell doesn't take away Sonic's free will or his ability to say no. It just results in them looking up at the moon. For this same reason Tails and Cosmo aren't bonded by force due to the spell.
@AlphaOmegaTri He didn't end up smashing the rock with her or falling into her trap. ๐ญ
He's not in the wrong, but that doesn't mean Amy can't be upset. She didn't even "win" in the end, Tails and Cosmo did.
Jason's Sonic voice is really earnest and gentle to me in those games so I would be a bit disappointed, BUT as long as the script was the same or written to be closer to the Japanese originals then I think Roger would do a really good job.
@AlphaOmegaTri She heard of spells that bonded souls forever and wanted to check them out with her (boy)friend. Instead of being upfront about his opinion, he begrudgingly sticks around before just running off. It's no wonder Amy's upset with him.
@AlphaOmegaTri To be fair, him giving her a lavender rose is Sonic's most romantic gesture in the series. Sonic's pretty bad at expressing himself when it comes to this sort of thing (a trait that's very endearing and not necessarily a flaw) so it makes sense that Amy's the "leader" here.
@AlphaOmegaTri He still joins Amy for her shenanigans despite her being a bit ridiculous before running away (Amy didn't trap him). He's already confessed to her a few episodes prior as well.
This only works if you believe Tails and Cosmo's subsequent love is forced against their wills by Amy.
@WataruAkiyama1@PersonthePerso2 "Girls" and it's one girl character being a bit delulu and in love in a brash and loud way ๐ญ. Not sexist, in fact I think having a girl character like this who's totally unfiltered, unembarrassed, and a bit flawed in her thinking is a good thing! I love a girl with layers ๐
@sonicstarrr She's daydreamed about Sonic doing romantic gestures for her and had dates planned (which he missed) so honestly I think it comes down to Sonic just being really bad at showing the kind of affection Amy yearns for ๐ญ
The "spell" was just looking at the moon together, not crazy
The premise doesn't make too much sense to me because Sonic already confessed to her (which she references) ๐ค.
She's a bit bratty but not a serious threat because at most the "spell" was having them both hold each other and look at the moon (iirc) so I can forgive it
Just watched Episode 69 of Sonic X.
This episode was some hot garbage, and I think this screenshot should automatically tell you why I didnโt like it ๐ญ
@THENEWOmegan They work well as a duo, there's nothing wrong with that ๐โโ๏ธ.
I think a good compromise would be allowing them to appear with other characters more often to form relationships. Maybe they feel a little too isolated?
