I wanted to let y'all know I am retiring as Director of the Texas A&M AgriLife Genomics and Bioinformatics Service (@TxGen) at the end of August.

@BrunMarcel will take over as Director. You’re in good hands.

At @AGBT AG let's catch up, see you then

Howdy,
Whoop. Big news from @TXGEN . Effective today, our @Illumina 10B NovaSeq X+ pricing drops 35 percent. We are also continuing to absorb Illumina tariff surcharges. Email us at [email protected] for our new prices.

Marcel and I will be at #PAG33 if you'd like to chat.

[Charlie Johnson @BioMath]

We just got a physical proofs back from @bicyclecards . We should have @TXGEN DNA playing card decks in a few weeks! Email us if you'd like a deck at [email protected], still working on logistics. Thanks for all the help from @AgriLife marketing for their design support.

[Charlie Johnson @BioMath]

While others adjust pricing due to tariff surcharges, we are not raising prices.
Any quotes issued this summer will be honored for at least 180 days. We will also do our best to honor any quote that is part of a grant written this summer, regardless of when those funds come in.

At @agbt, someone asked how many projects @TXGEN tackled this past year—I was pleasantly surprised. With help from our @illumina X+/DRAGEN, we’ve handled 663 projects this year: 315 still in proposal stage, 328 completed, and 20 ongoing. Let’s explore how we can support your next sequencing project.

[Charlie Johnson @BioMath]

As I promised. Thank you @UltimaGenomics for the great tshirts from #AGBTGM @agbt . All of @TXGEN greatly appreciated the fine swag.

[Charlie Johnson @BioMath]

Less than a month before #AGBTAG, but still time to register and join us. I look forward to meeting everyone attending. @BrunMarcel and I will be there from @TXGEN @agbt

Our DeNovix system was one of the first piece of equipment we bought those many years ago. Every project starts with sample QC!

For 15yrs, December leading to Christmas and New Years has always been our busiest time @TXGEN @txresearch and this year is no different. But its also my favorite time of year because we put everything aside to all focus only on getting projects completed and out the door ASAP

[Charlie Johnson @BioMath]

Thanks to @CCCreationsUSA for creating us some awesome new @TXGEN swag.

[Charlie Johnson @BioMath]

We just hit 501 proposals (quotes) this year. That will translate to about 300 completed projects by the end of December. @TXGEN

It was wonderful having a group of undergraduate and graduate students from @UHouston and Dr. @khanal79 's class visit on on Friday. Lots of questions about genomics and NGS technology as they toured @TXGEN

WHOOP! Thank you. This is like seeing David Beckham sporting your local club team gear 🤠 @TXGEN @AgriLife

Here is a few of the card designs. The blue and red dashed lines are put there by @bicyclecards to help with design and will not show up in the final design. We are using the Jumbo default card style.

New TShirt design for our @Illumina @NovaSeqX Launch. I'm also working with @AgriLife's marketing department to design a set of what will be AMAZING custom playing cards by @bicyclecards. Everyone can have their own mini-sequencer! Coming soon!
