On September 29, over 50 members of UE Local 267 showed up to support negotiations with the University of Vermont in what Local 267 member Eleanor Duva called “a demonstration of our strength.” Local 267 has represented maintenance and trades workers at UVM since 1997.
UE has signed onto a "Declaration of Independence from The Medical-Industrial Complex" created by the National Single Payer organization.

“Our union is a powerful tool that we must utilize to attain a society and a world that is truly equitable and just for all,” Local 1186 Vice President Michele McCoy told the Western Region council meeting during the region’s political action report.
Following the political action report, the region’s delegates passed a resolution which declared that “the fight to maintain open, free, & fair elections...[is] an opportunity to bring working people together to build an even stronger force for change in our country & the world.”
