The Antalya Mediterranean Climate Dialogue made its 3rd stop today at @TC_ParisBE after Rabat and Cairo.
Led by the UfM with Türkiye, COP31 president and host country, the process brings together national perspectives to identify shared priorities and support greater regional convergence ahead of the UN climate conference.
The outcomes will feed into a Mediterranean Synthesis Note to be presented in Antalya this November.
UfM Secretary General ad interim Fadi Hajali, Deputy Secretary General Meltem Büyükkarakaş and Head of sector Mohammed Elrazzaz paid a working visit to @ascameorg today to mark a new phase in our partnership.
The messages were clearly aligned, and the shared commitment to advancing Euro-Mediterranean economic integration was evident throughout the discussions.
As part of the Interreg Euro-MED MIRAMAR project, the OEC and Plastic Busters UNISI teams conducted an intensive sampling campaign in the Bouches de Bonifacio Nature Reserve to assess the multiple pressures affecting the biodiversity of seagrass meadows.
At #MedCatDays, Acting UfM Secretary General Fadi Hajali highlighted the UfM’s renewed vision for stronger cooperation across the Mediterranean:
“Our Vision Statement rests on three pillars: connecting people, connecting countries and connecting economies.”
He stressed that turning this vision into tangible results requires the active involvement of regions, cities and local authorities across the region.
Spanish Foreign Minister @jmalbares met today with UfM Acting Secretary General Fadi Hajali in Barcelona. Spain has hosted the UfM Secretariat since its creation and remains a central partner in Euro-Mediterranean cooperation.
UfM & @AnnaLindh reps. visited Córdoba to review preparations for its role as a #MedCultureCapital 2027.
Together with local and regional authorities, civil society, universities & cultural institutions, discussions focused on building an inclusive programme with a lasting legacy, strengthening citizen engagement and deepening Euro-Med cooperation, including close collaboration with fellow Mediterranean Capital Saida 🇱🇧.

Water resilience took centre stage at the 3rd Mediterranean Green Week.
UfM Member States, the Co-Presidency and partners took note of the final draft Ministerial Declaration on Water and reviewed progress on the WEFE Nexus, water finance and digitalisation.
Discussions also covered the EU Water Resilience Strategy, COP31 Türkiye and the 2026 UN Water Conference, followed by an AI-driven digital water webinar with 100+ participants.

📢 Applications are open for the first Euro-Mediterranean Women in Journalism Award.
The award recognises gender-sensitive, solutions-oriented reporting on the challenges the region shares such as gender equality, socioeconomic inclusion, climate action and more.
Open to women journalists and women-led journalistic projects whose lead applicant is a national of a UfM Member State. Any journalistic format qualifies (article, investigation, podcast, documentary or series) and cross-border collaborations are encouraged. Work may be published in any language; English is the official language of the application and the award.

Today in Cairo, UfM Secretary General ad interim Fadi Hajali announced a new cooperation framework between the Union for the Mediterranean and the Parliamentary Assembly of the UfM, together with the Egyptian House of Representatives, to strengthen the link between Euro-Mediterranean parliamentary diplomacy and governmental action.
The framework will advance cooperation on shared regional priorities, including artificial intelligence, youth empowerment and women’s empowerment.
Last day of the 3rd Mediterranean Green Week focused on civil protection and disaster risk management.
UfM Member States and partner organisations joined the online meeting of the UfM Regional Dialogue Platform to review progress on the UfM Action Plan 2025–2030.
Discussions covered regional cooperation on prevention, preparedness and response, with contributions from the UfM Secretariat,@eu_echo, @EU4MENAGulf, @JoCivilDefense, @pprdmed, @DGPC_CNI, @CivilDefenseLBand and regional partners.
