Thank you @JSheltzer for this clear overview. It was so nice to see two complementary stories come together! Happy to have contributed with @StrancarLab@TKoklic Infinite Biotech (https://t.co/HjWGV12OLw) co-funded by @HorizonEU#nanoPASSeu.
There wasn’t previous evidence for pollution driving whole-genome duplications. But, we collaborated with Janez Strancar’s environmental toxicology group, and we tested whether several common pollutants were capable of causing WGD events in cell culture.

@faldalf@AndrewGYork What was the orientation of the magnet relative to the objective? Could it be that you are aligning the triplet states, which then don't emit isotropically but preferentially into the plane that includes the optical axis, so that photon collection efficiency is increased?
@faldalf@AndrewGYork Super interesting indeed! One could also perform the original experiment at different intensities of the excitation light - that should affect the fraction of the molecules in the dark states.
"Days of biophysics" - the yearly meeting of the Slovenian Biophysical Society - are finally back in person! Diverse topics from nanoparticles, phase separation, cell mechanics, to medical applications. Looking forward to the evening poster session! #DBS22
Our 🔬🖥️ whizz Petra attended #DL4MIA and said it was superbly organised, extremely useful and greatly enjoyable (I'd have been even more in person, no doubt). Many thanks @jug_lab@florianjug @humantehnopole for running it, others make sure you grab a place at the next one!
Today was the first day of #DL4MIA (DL for Microscopy Image Analysis). It was quite a ride... so much so, I didn't even manage to tweet about it.
Here 24 awesome students following my calling to move from teamwork to lecture... @humantechnopole@gather_town

The plasma membrane is a very heterogeneous and dynamic structure. Embracing this @uiztok and I are editing a special issue on “Membrane Architecture and Asymmetry” in @Membranes_MDPI If you share our excitement, please consider contributing! More info: https://t.co/CwFkJF3oh7
@faldalf and I are editing a special issue in @Membranes_MDPI: “Membrane Architecture and Asymmetry”, following the successful @ebsa_in session #EBSA2021. Please consider contributing an experimental/computational/theoretical paper or a nice review! More👉https://t.co/ycR0Cewfpg
The first paper of my postdoc with @AgEggeling is out! Let me briefly tell you about it. I hope this threat is easy to understand also for non-experts.
