Patients with hemophilia are aging & developing ASCVD! What do we need to know?
🩸 need factor replacement therapy to give AP therapy or AC
🧪 ACT & other assays will be impacted by this therapy
👨🏻⚕️when in doubt get help from your lab or friendly hematologist

Round table discussion of AC & management of ongoing bleeding after cardiac surgery led by @nhristakosdo
⏰ how much time off AC is safe after mechanical valve implantation?
🩸 are we anticoagulating too much for ECMO?
🔪 when is it time to go back to the OR for exploration?
Prove it!
1) ASA 81 is just as good as 325mg. If more anti-platelet effect is needed, dose more frequently.
2) 12 months of DAPT in ACS isn’t a one-size-fits all
3) LMWH for symptomatic VTE has favorable data. Skip the anti-platelet/SCDs
4) heparin and impella = ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
5) VA ECMO = highest thrombocytopenia risk
6) mechanical valves and bridging: reasonable if valve is both moderate to high bleeding and thromboembolism risk
