The Hon. Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury @JohnMbadiN and @UNDPKenya Resident Representative @JLStalon have signed a landmark agreement formalizing the Government of Kenya's KSh 2 billion investment in the #NextGenKe Youth Employment Programme, implemented by UNDP.

H.E. President @WilliamsRuto called on development partners and the private sector to crowd in investment and join the Government's vision and efforts to scale the programme to reach 100,000+ youth, backed by a further commitment of KES 5 billion next year.

@UNDP in Kenya signed a partnership agreement with TailG Technology Ltd., a China-based company. The aim is to support the establishment of a Green Mobility Centre of Excellence in Kenya.

Specifically, the collaboration aims to advance electric mobility in Kenya through:

✅ Local manufacturing & assembly capacity development
✅ Open standards & certification, carbon finance mechanisms
✅Entrepreneurship support

This is structured to support Kenyan entrepreneurs, institutions, communities, and industrial protagonists of the advances in technology in the EV sector as well as create over 1000 jobs for engineers, artisans, and local EV startups.

The partnership is under the auspices of UNDP's @timbuktooafrica GreenTech Hub programme that includes Konza Technopolis and Technical University of Kenya.
