A very colourful & wonderful #WorldRefugeeDay celebration in #Liberia honoured by the the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Diplomatic Corps, the UN Resident Coordinator and Refugees as well.
#worldrefugeeday2023 in Monrovia focusing on Hope away from Home. These celebrations reiterated the need for inclusion of refugees in national plans. It was also a call for international action for resources to alleviate suffering of refugees & other displaced people.

@UnhcrLiberia just graced the 7th Graduation Ceremony of the Nimba University. 5 ex refugees sponsored by the German Govt's DAFI program graduated.
1 Refugee lady beneficiary of UNHCRs livelihoods funds also graduated & was valedictorian. Thanks DAFI. Bravo Humanitarianism.!

On Wednesday 5th met with Ambassador of Cote D'Ivoire & LRRRC Executive Director. We secured a major breakthrough on the documentation process for 548 of the Ivorians legally integrating in Liberia. With this averting the risk of statelessness for these Ivorian Ex-refugees.
The 3rd Appeal Committee sitting against exemption decisions started today @UnhcrLiberia in Zwedru. During 6 days, members of the Appeal Committee will review appealing cases. The Cessation Clause for Ivorian refugees came into effect on 30 June 2022. #LRRRC

@UnhcrLiberia commenced distribution of #UNICEF donated essential drugs & hygiene materials to health facilities in #Nimba, starting with the Comprehensive Health Center. This will help improve health care delivery services to the community including former Ivorian refugees
On 26 August 2022, the Government of Liberia (#LRRRC & the #Asylum Committee), with technical expertise from @UnhcrLiberia, completed , the 3rd sitting which reviewed and decided on 93 out of 400 exemption applications recently assessed in Grand Gedeh County. @UNHCRWestAfrica
