1/2 Today in Nairobi, UNHCR marked 75 years of the 1951 Refugee Convention with Government, refugee-led organisations, host communities and partners.

The dialogue reaffirmed a simple promise: people forced to flee have the right to seek safety, dignity and protection.

2/2 Discussions focused on protecting access to asylum, strengthening refugee participation and expanding opportunities for refugees and host communities.

They also recognised the importance of protection systems that are trusted, well managed and grounded in the rule of law.
