Africa CDC welcomes the United States’ additional US$242 million for the Ebola response, preparedness and related humanitarian assistance. This brings direct assistance announced by the US State Department for the Ebola response to more than US$512 million, alongside substantial humanitarian support, reaffirming the United States as the largest financial contributor to the response.

This vital solidarity will help save lives, strengthen country-led response operations and reinforce cross-border preparedness across affected and at-risk countries.

We urge other partners to step forward, close the remaining financing gaps and rapidly disburse their commitments in support of a coordinated, country-led and Africa-led response.
