Better wages. Safer workplaces. Stronger representation for women and young workers.
That's the goal of a new three-year project from UNI Africa, launched with the support of Finnish trade union solidarity organization SASK, to strengthen unions for private services workers in Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire.
"When workers are in a union, they are better positioned to negotiate fair wages, safe working conditions and greater dignity at work," said UNI Africa Regional Secretary Keith Jacobs.

🔴 Sendikamız Sosyal-İş’in de üyesi olduğu UNI Global Union (UNI Küresel Sendika), işçilerin iklim krizinden ve aşırı hava olaylarından nasıl etkilendiğini inceleyen bir rapor yayımladı. 21 ülkeden 5.857 işçiyle yapılan küresel bir anketten yola çıkarak hazırlanan rapor göre;

📊 Dünya çapında işçilerin %60’tan fazlası son üç yılda aşırı hava olaylarının işlerini daha zor ya da tehlike hale getirdiğini,
❌ %25’inden fazlası işverenin aşırı hava olaylarına karşı hiçbir önlem almadığını,
☂️ Sadece %5’inden azı acil durumlarda ücretli izne ulaşabildiğini ifade ediyor.
