Today marks one year to go until we welcome the Invictus Games to Birmingham.
From historic parades and remembrance at the Hall of Memory to modern civic celebrations, Birmingham continues to honour and celebrate our veterans and Armed Forces community.
Our city is proud of its military heritage, including the First Southern General Hospital at the University of Birmingham, where wounded servicemen from across the world received treatment during the First World War.
Today, that legacy lives on at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, home to the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine, alongside Fisher House, which provides free accommodation for serving personnel, veterans and their families while loved ones receive life-saving treatment.
