Today, on International Day for Biological Diversity, sturgeon juveniles were released into the wild in the Caspian Sea. Natig Bakhishov, USACC Executive Director attended the release ceremony in the Neftchala district, a region widely recognized for its rich fishery and aquaculture traditions.
Our team also visited Azerbaijan Fish Farm’s sturgeon facility. The company's use of advanced technologies and sustainable farming protocols helps ensure the protection and growth of sturgeon populations in the Caspian basin.
The release ceremony, co-organized by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and private fish farms, stands as an excellent example of public-private partnership contributing to the preservation and restoration of Ponto-Caspian sturgeon species.
