I’m thrilled (and truly honored) to speak to the incoming class of 2027 at UVA Law. It’s been 21 years and I am looking forward to sharing the many mistakes I made as a newly minted 1L back in the day….
U.S. Attorney Christopher Kavanaugh ’06, who will address the Class of 2027 at orientation, talks about his time as a #UVALaw student and his career in public service. @USAttyKavanaugh https://t.co/7BPeBdzDkb
Open political discourse is a cornerstone of our American experience. We can disagree. We can argue, and we can debate. However, when those disagreements cross the line to threats of violence, law enforcement must step in. @FBIRichmond

After 28 years, we can finally say who committed these brutal killings. I am so grateful for FBI special agents and federal prosecutors who never quit in their pursuit of justice. @FBIRichmond https://t.co/4ABxaMA2JV
Congratulations, and thank you, to the team of federal prosecutors with United States Attorney’s Office for WDVA and @DOJEnvironment investigators, veterinarians, experts, and volunteers who were all critical to achieving this just result.
For years, Envigo promoted a business culture in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry that prioritized profits and convenience over compliance with the law.

These guilty pleas in this corporate criminal resolution have resulted in historic monetary penalties — to include the largest Animal Welfare Act fine in Justice Department history — as well as robust compliance measures with a compliance monitor for years to come.
For years, this public official stole millions in taxpayer funds, using them to purchase real estate and live a lavish lifestyle. This 14-year sentence reflects how seriously the U.S. Attorney’s Office for WDVA takes fraud and public corruption. https://t.co/hMdmbFYckf
The U.S. Attorney's Office for WDVA submitted Captain Quick to be remembered as one of many victims of gun violence. His memory lives on in many ways, to now include being a part of the Faces of Gun Violence Memorial in ATF's Headquarters. Thank you @ATFHQ for honoring him.
In 2014, Captain Kevin Quick of the Waynesboro Police Department was carjacked, abducted and murdered by members of the Bloods gang. All of the defendants were identified, tried in WDVA, and are now serving mandatory life sentences.
This week, I had the honor of attending @ATFHQ the first ever Gun Violence Survivors' Summit in Washington, D.C., along with 20 other United States Attorneys, where they unveiled the Faces of Gun Violence Memorial.
A team of federal, state, and local investigators put this one together, and I'm grateful to the @VSPPIO, @FBIRichmond, @ATFWashington, @USMarshalsHQ, @rpdsafercity, @LynchburgPolice, and Roanoke and Bedford County Commonwealth Attorneys' Offices for their partnership.
Last week, a federal grand jury in WDVA charged two drug traffickers for a scheme in which they lured their supplier from Pennsylvania to rob him.
Shot and killed him.
Set his body and vehicle on fire in an attempt to cover up their crimes.
Always happy to make the haul from Cville to present with you, @USAttyAber. And thank you to all the Commonwealth’s Attorneys for their partnership and service to keep Virginia safe.
It was worth the 7-hour drive round trip on this beautiful Sunday to catch many of Va’s Commonwealth’s Attorneys at their meeting. @USAttyKavanaugh + I spoke about partnering w. “The Feds” to keep our communities safer.
(2/2) And that is why today, my Office brought federal charges against the individual who threatened our most cherished of public institutions — our schools. I’m grateful for the @rpdsafercity and @FBIRichmond for the partnership and the quick work to keep our community safe.
(1/2) Today, @RoanokeSchools were closed because of online threats of violence. Our children have the right to be free from fear when they go to school, and parents deserve the same when we drop them off.

Here in Virginia, we have a team of federal prosecutors, agents, and victim-witness specialists, all of whom are specially trained to work with victims and survivors to uncover these offenses and hold those responsible to account. @FBIRichmond
January is Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention Month, and I'm proud to be a part of the Justice Department's efforts to shed light on this horrific crime.
This morning, federal agents of FBI Richmond took Brian Turner into custody on federal human trafficking charges from my Office. Thank you to all of our partners, including @FBIRichmond, @cvillepolice, and @ACPD_VA.
