Today I had the honor of meeting with @EDSecMcMahon and her incredible team at the @usedgov.
We discussed the issues plaguing our schools including gender ideology infecting curriculum, p**n books in schools, Title IX violations with schools allowing boys in girl’s sports and bathrooms, and DEI race based discrimination.
Here’s some important points I got from our conversation that I feel is important to share:
- The Education Dept is working on President Trump’s vision of giving education back to the states. Just 10% of school funding is coming from the Dept of Education. They are coadministering many grants with other agencies as they shrink the bureaucracy and return ed to the states
- They already reallocated hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars that were funding equity and lgbtq programs during the Biden admin
- Undid many shocking Biden-era practices which required 5/8 school counselors be black for example, or required districts have policies restricting the school from informing parents about a child’s gender change
- They’re investigating multiple districts for Title IX violations and will pull funding if necessary. BOYS CANNOT ENTER GIRLS SPORTS OR BATHROOMS. This is a straight up violation of the law. Any schools caught doing this should be exposed immediately and will face the consequences
- Parents have a right to their children’s education, curriculum, and records. Under FERPA a school is REQUIRED to hand over all records of a student to their parents. Parents do not need to file FOIAs. A simple request under FERPA is enough and if a school doesn’t cooperate that is a direct violation of the law. Similarly under PPRA, schools are REQUIRED to hand over all curriculum that a parent requests. Any schools caught hiding student records or curriculum is breaking the law and will be held accountable
This is the most pro-parent and pro-child administration. We will do whatever we can to help in protecting children in schools across our country.
Under President Trump, @HHSgov & @USDA have taken unprecedented steps to ensure the fruits and vegetables our children consume are fresh and safe.
Fresh food fuels sharp minds and supports student success in the classroom.
Democrats think every kid should learn the same way. That’s crazy.
Kids aren’t robots. Education freedom works because every child is different - and we’re so lucky to have a President who agrees!
This headline is inaccurate and dangerous. It’s typical of @AP to cast ED’s important civil rights investigations as black vs. white issues when we see students of ALL races struggle academically.
To allocate resources disproportionately to students of one race at the expense of others is not only a violation of civil rights law, but an infringement upon the basic fairness to which all students are entitled.
Building the workforce America needs starts in the classroom!
Vermont is leveling up Career and Technical Education–connecting schools directly to the skills employers are looking for.
Quality education is the civil rights issue of our time. The WFTC’s Education Freedom Tax Credit gives parents real options, moves beyond failing centralized models, and delivers for North Carolina students.
Thank you to the NC Legislature for overriding the veto and for putting parents and students first.
North Carolina has always helped America reach new heights.
Glad to see our state leading again through the Education Freedom Tax Credit. This was a critical step that provides Tar Heel families more educational opportunities for their children.
Jefferson County Public Schools continues to violate Title IX and ignore legal obligations to protect female students.
To come into compliance, the district must restore Title IX protections or risk further enforcement action.

The state that pioneered powered flight is now powering ahead on education freedom!
Thrilled to see North Carolina join those unlocking more opportunities for students through the Education Freedom Tax Credit.
Thanks to the legislature for standing strong for Tar Heel families!
The Trump Administration has taken decisive action to restore Title IX to its original promise—protecting women’s rights and preserving fairness in women’s sports.
And this is just the beginning.
Thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, @POTUS is making postsecondary education more affordable, attainable, and aligned with real-world career demands.
June is Title IX Month, a time to recognize the landmark law providing equal opportunities in education and athletics.
Thank you @POTUS for championing our women and girls and working to keep men OUT of women's sports.
As Chair of the @EdWorkforceCmte, I am proud to recognize June as Title IX Month and recommit to working alongside the Trump administration to protect every opportunity for women and girls to compete and learn safely and fairly.
Last year, the House passed the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act to strengthen Title IX’s protections and ensure a level playing field for female athletes.
Yesterday in Massachusetts, I met educators deeply committed to their students’ success.
Our conversations on state-led education, chronic absenteeism, and teacher retention reinforced a key lesson: local communities are best positioned to set and achieve their own priorities.
During Title IX Month, Californians should ask why Gov. Newsom's actions don't match his words.
He has publicly declared that it's unfair and wrong for men to compete in women's sports.
Yet in California, he has done nothing to stop it.
He needs to pick a side and stick to it!
