Thank you to the @TBBJnewsroom for including me on this roster. I am honored to be recognized in this way by my peers. And to be in the same company as these amazing leaders, many of whom are USF partners, friends, and alumni, is especially meaningful. Congratulations to all.
Congratulations to @USF_Pres Moez Limayem and our Board of Trustees Chair @mikegriffinFL on being recognized as two of @TBBJnewsroom's 10 Most Admired CEOs! We're grateful for your steadfast leadership.

It was a pleasure to meet with St. Petersburg Mayor Ken Welch today to discuss recovery efforts for the USF College of Marine Science lab. The mayor and I share a strong belief that the best solutions come through partnerships. When cities, universities and community leaders work together, we can recover more quickly, strengthen our region and create new opportunities. Thank you, Mayor Welch, for your commitment to working alongside your alma mater and for accepting a small token of Bull pride.
I enjoyed celebrating a milestone recently, joining @USFHealth and our @TGHCares partners to congratulate our inaugural Family Medicine residents. They completed their first year of training and we welcomed the incoming class. I am proud of this amazing partnership!
It was wonderful to welcome @CharleyBelcher from @FOX13News last week to highlight the dozens of summer camps #USF offers. Our programs open doors for young learners to explore their interests, develop new skills and experience a college campus. From an early age, we help prepare the workforce and leaders of tomorrow. Mudia Reuben’s story is truly inspiring! We are incredibly proud of him and his commitment to his academics, @usffootball, and the impactful work he is doing to help provide water to families in Nigeria - the birthplace of his parents.
#BoundlessBull and @USFFootball player Mudia Reuben grew up hearing his parents’ stories of childhood in Nigeria, where mornings began with long walks to collect water.
That reality persists for many in Nigeria, inspiring him to found the Nigeria Water Project in 2024. Funded through donations and the NIL money Reuben earns as a student-athlete, his nonprofit has drilled wells in six different Nigerian villages so far.
For Reuben, providing water is just the beginning. “I want to build something here, something big, and bring it to communities that don’t have access to it. I just want to continue to make an impact on the world.”

This Father’s Day, I am reflecting on the impact my late father had on my life. He sparked my love of education and taught me that learning creates opportunity. His lessons continue to guide me every day.
Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers and father figures who inspire the next generation.
The #USF Board of Trustees elected two remarkable leaders at today's meeting. I’ve known @mikegriffinFL and Oscar for years, and I’ve seen their passion for the university and the Tampa Bay region. I am excited to work with them and our entire board as we write USF's next chapter. Our best days are ahead!
Alumnus Mike Griffin has been unanimously elected by the #USF Board of Trustees to serve a two-year term as board chair.
Longtime community leader Oscar Horton has also been elected to serve a two-year term as the board’s new vice chair.

I had a chance to meet USF faculty member Mildred Acevedo Duncan in her lab today as she celebrated a gift from the Save the Kids Foundation. Dr. Acevedo Duncan’s team is working on breakthroughs related to pediatric cancer and the highly aggressive Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor cells. The ATRT cells are highly resistant to treatment but the team is working on novel ways to kill the ATRT cell, thus advancing treatment options for this deadly childhood cancer.
Thank you to the Tampa Bay Chamber for inviting me to speak about leadership and lessons I have learned throughout my career at Friday’s Circle of Influence breakfast, sponsored by USAA. There was rich Q&A afterward and it was evident the community leaders care about USF. I appreciate the warm welcome and great conversation.
I enjoyed meeting representatives from small businesses that are involved in our Mentor-Protege program as well as those that have benefited from additional programs offered by the #USF Small Business Development Center. The SBDC at USF and the USF Supplier Development and Engagement initiatives are incredible resources for the start-up business community!
A #USF-developed smartphone app could make glaucoma easier to monitor, at home, for $42, replicating tests requiring $30,000 in equipment. This month's USF Research newsletter includes stories about how our researchers are rethinking how and where glaucoma is detected, an expedition to Antarctica that might unlock cancer therapies, and how USF oceanographers are keeping critical hurricane forecasting systems running. https://t.co/aCHQZ9U2H9
We are proud of our amazing student-athletes for their commitment to excellence, not only in competition but also in the classroom. Go Bulls! https://t.co/gZakBrHKNH
It was a pleasure to meet with Hunter Rabinowitz, the new president of USF Student Government and student representative on the Board of Trustees. Our students are at the heart of everything we do and I am excited to work alongside Hunter in the coming year. There is important work ahead!
At the @AcadofInventors Annual Conference this week, I had the opportunity to moderate a panel of leaders from academia, government and research as we discussed how AI is influencing discovery, intellectual property and strategic decision-making. Together, we explored how institutions are using AI to guide research priorities, evaluate data, accelerate innovation and inform decision-making. Thanks to panelists Rob Duncan, Hossam Haick, Robert Hayes, and @sudeepsarkar for their insights and contributions. #NAI2026
