Hello friends,
We know it has been a while since you've heard from our team.
The crypto industry and Bitcoin Layer 2 space have been changing rapidly since the day we started, and this entire time we have been busy adapting our capabilities and ideas to meet what we can see as market demands.
It's been a path of challenge and uncertainty and the time has come to announce our difficult decision to stop pursuing the release of a UTXO Stack product. In line with this decision, and as a commitment to our investors, we are returning all remaining funds on a pro-rata basis.
We will however, continue to contribute to the BTC/CKB ecosystems with the time we have left, and we look forward to open sourcing what we've built over the last 18 months.
For UTXO Stack, this may be the end of a road, but this experience has shown us that our industry really is at the beginning of something game-changing and we know that working in the intersection of BTC and CKB is the right place to be.
We see a bright future and are looking forward to traveling with you, innovating toward a truly decentralized and permissionless network of value.
Talk to you again soon.

At UTXOStack, we’re building the core infra to bring this vision to life — enabling Bitcoin-native stablecoins and Lightning payments to scale globally.
GENIUS Act = Regulatory clarity
RGB++ = Tokenization layer
Lightning = Real-time payment layer
The future of Bitcoin is programmable.

📜 The U.S. Congress just passed the GENIUS Act — a milestone for stablecoin regulation.
But this isn’t just a win for Ethereum.
It’s a massive unlock for Bitcoin + Lightning to enter the real-world stablecoin economy. 🧵👇
Why does it matter for Bitcoin?
With protocols like RGB++, stablecoins can now be issued natively on Bitcoin — and sent instantly via the Lightning Network. ⚡
Imagine:
💵 USD-backed coins
📲 Settling in seconds
🧾 With near-zero fees
💡 On Bitcoin rails
🔍 The debate around #Bitcoin Core PR 32359 (removing OP_RETURN limits) highlights a key point:
Simplicity and security are foundational to Bitcoin’s long-term success.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t explore cleaner, more standardized L2 anchoring mechanisms — ones that minimize impact on the UTXO set.
Protocols like RGB++ / @utxostack intentionally use OP_RETURN commitments for this reason: to keep Bitcoin lean while enabling rich L2 programmability.
We believe native #BTCFi can evolve without compromising Bitcoin’s core principles.

6/6 🧵So, as the blockchain world debates execution environments, Nervos CKB offers a real-world example of RISC-V's power on L1 and how it enables advanced L2s like Fiber.
A working model worth exploring! 👀
1/6 🧵Ethereum's exploring a move from EVM to RISC-V for its L1 execution layer... but did you know one blockchain has been running on RISC-V since 2019? 🤔
Enter @NervosNetwork & its CKB-VM. Let's dive in! 👇
5/6 🧵And the base layer's low-level flexibility doesn't stop there! CKB-VM can even run other VMs/interpreters. Projects have demonstrated running Bitcoin Script interpreters & even EVM implementations (like Polyjuice) directly on CKB.
True interoperability potential. 🔗
CKB led the way with RISC-V based VM: Vitalik proposes switching from EVM to a RISC-V model similar to CKB-VM
This would be a monumenal shift in approach @VitalikButerin 👏

It’s been a while since our last update — here’s a quick look at what we’ve been working on 👇
⚡ Our team continues to double down on Lightning Network development — follow @joy_protocol for product updates!
🧩 We’re actively exploring real-world applications where Lightning can truly shine, especially when combined with other technologies. One new project is already in development — we’ll share more as soon as we’re ready.
🗓️ As for the TGE, it has been postponed for now due to a mix of factors including market timing. We’ll announce more when the time feels right.
Thanks for staying with us 🙌 We’re still building — and the best is yet to come 🚀 #Update

6/ Conclusion 🎯
Regulatory clarity is improving, institutional adoption is growing, and Bitcoin’s integration into finance is accelerating. Will we see banks embracing Lightning for payments and settlements? Time will tell.

🚨 SEC rescinds SAB 121 – What does it mean for Bitcoin and the Lightning Network? 🧵👇
1/ The SEC has officially rescinded SAB 121, removing a major accounting hurdle for banks and custodians offering Bitcoin custody. Previously, SAB 121 required institutions to record customers’ crypto assets as liabilities, increasing the cost of entering the crypto market.
5/ What’s Next? 🚀
While rescinding SAB 121 won’t change everything overnight, it’s a key step in bridging Bitcoin with traditional finance. If major banks enter BTC custody, they’ll likely explore better settlement and payment solutions—Lightning Network stands out as a strong option.
