Senate passed a resolution to understand student perspectives by including the item on the ballot, and although many executive team members and agents wanted to see the referendum passed, we look forward to listening to student voices and cultivating belonging in new ways.

This year’s general election contained a referendum item that aimed to remodel the Homecoming Court selection process to not include gender categorization of court candidates. With 557 students voting to pass and 665 voting not to pass, the referendum item did not pass.
