I can never be pessimistic about the growth of this industry. I arrived from University exactly 20years ago to a Lagos that had only one cinema, Kunle Afolayan had just made Irapada and there was barely an industry. For years the highest grossing films earned 50m and that felt like the ceiling of the industry until 2014 with AY released 30Days in Atlanta.
The Nigerian film industry has grown significantly in those 20years, a lot of that growth has been driven by distribution growth and having more films that have grown the audienceโs appetite for Nollywood. Thatโs the work we must continue to do.
UCHE JOMBO IS THE COVER OF ESCAPEMAG ISSUE 15. (@UCHEJOMBO )
Twenty five years. Over 250 films. Every single era of Nollywood, and she is in all of them. Not as a guest but as the standard. While the industry chased moments, she built a system: a studio, a slate, a YouTube operation she reads like a trader reads the market, and a rule she has kept since day one. Give the public 90 percent. Keep 10 for yourself. That 10 is what carries you.
Reinvention every ten years. Presence you cannot fake. A long game most people never finish playing.
The Power of Presence.

Banter aside no one should blame any player for club mismanagement of funds. Itโs on the club. No body forced them to sign a player for that fee / gave the contract(s)
Behind every successful brand is a powerful narrative, and @uchejombo has spent decades crafting definitions of excellenceโจ
Celebrating her inclusion in the Glazia @Glaziang 2026 PR Power List is a beautiful reminder of what consistency, brilliance, and unmatched media influence can build. She doesnโt just navigate the industry; she shapes it.
